Have you been experiencing issues with your steam heat exchange equipment. You might be seeing a "Stall" scenario. Steam traps discharge condensate based on differential pressure. The inlet pressure to the trap must be higher than the back pressure at the outlet of the trap in order to drain condensate. If there is a negative pressure differential, condensate may back up into your heat exchange and other equipment. This can cause water hammer, failed tube bundles, and difficulties meeting heating demands. It may be caused by the presence of vacuum, a fluctuating differential pressure, or a constant negative differential pressure. Check out the video below presented by SPIRAX SARCO, it explains the how and why of stall, and provides solutions. We can help address any "Stall" scenario you might be experiencing. |
